USEFULL's 2023 so far: looking back on a busy year!

Believe it or not, 2023 is halfway over, and here at USEFULL, we’ve been reflecting on the year so far! It’s impossible to cover everything that has happened, but these are some of the highlights!

Savings by the numbers

In June, the 200,000th USEFULL container was checked out! We are so grateful for our partners and all of the people who use USEFULL from coast to coast! Thanks to you, we kept 9.5 tons of trash out of the landfill, and the same emissions which would be used to drive from LA to New York 42 times! We look forward to seeing the impact continue to pile up.

Speaking of partners...

We are thrilled that USEFULL has launched our plastic-free solution with five new partners so far this year!

  • St. Olaf College, MN - March

  • Lexington Zero Waste, MA - March

  • Good Earth Natural Foods, CA - March

  • Island Eats, MA - April

  • City of Middletown, CT - June

Survey says...

This spring, we sent out a survey to all of our partners to see what users think of USEFULL. The results? Users like USEFULL as much as we do! These are some of the highlights:

High-quality:

“The food actually stays warmer for longer. More secure to transport food as the lids fit tighter on the container and food such as sauce doesn't slip out.”

- St. Olaf College student

Super convenient:

"I don't have to worry about fully washing them myself and I know they will always be clean."

- Mount Holyoke College student

And of course, sustainable:

"For years I have avoided take-out because of the immense amount of plastic waste it generates. With USEFULL meaning that's not a problem anymore, I will order a lot more takeout from places that partner with USEFULL."

- Lexington community user

Circular news in Massachusetts

This June, USEFULL founder and CEO, Alison Rogers Cove, was asked to speak at the Massachusetts State House in support of the new Circular Economy Bill which is under review! This exciting new bill would promote nature-based climate solutions, support bluetech careers, and allow Massachusetts businesses to be more sustainable. We can't wait to see where this legislation goes!

NACUFS & NACAS Conferences - Excited to Return!

Much like our users are excited to return their USEFULL containers to make an impact while dining, we are just as excited to return to next year’s NACUFS and NACAS conferences after an impactful first year experience! In June and July, USEFULL debuted our shiny new booth and product offerings with the Auxiliary Service and Food Service professional networks, and had a great time meeting everyone who is eager to bring zero-waste, plastic-free takeout to their campuses. If your college team didn’t make it but wants to learn more, schedule a demo with us!

Looking forward

We can't wait to grow the impact even more in the second half of 2023! Cheers to a wonderful 2023 so far, and we can't wait to make plastic-free takeout a reality in more places!
